20/11/2007The 50th fifeFife Scout Group based in Glenrothes recently won the Vodafone small business challenge competition on Forth One radio which has resulted in a compationnumber toof haveimprovement thereworks hallbeing carried out on their renavatedScout Hall.
Forth One appealed on athe radio for 6 days for local radiosmall businesses to come along and help out, and the Group had a great stationresponse with various works being carried out including landscaping (thanks to Jim’s Mowing), roof repairs, upgrading of kitchen & disabled access provisions, vestibule flooring (thanks to Floor Design), as well as internal & external painting (thanks to Norrie Kinnes). The bathrooms at the hall will also be modernised & tiled in the next couple of months thanks to allDez from Tile In Style. This is particularly appropriate as Dez’s grandfather was the peoplearchitect who helpeddesigned outthe Scout Hall over 50 years ago and members of his family were Leaders in the 50th Scout Group in its early years.

The Group was also given donations from Focus & Hedgehogs Garden Centre & Nursery as well as receiving refreshments all day for all the workers from Wee Nabby’s Nosh.
The 50th Fife Scout Group are delighted with the work that has been done already and are looking forward to the work that will be happening in the next few months, and would like to thank Forth One, Vodafone & all the local companies for their help in improving their Scout Hall.
