Easter Egg CampThis is a featured page

We joined Explorer Scouts from across Fife between Friday 21st and Sunday 23rd March 2008 for an Easter camp.

We stayed at Fordell Firs; however the majority of the activities were off-site.

After pitching tents on the Friday evening, we went to Lochore Meadows Country Park to complete a number of team buiding challenges to start earning time that would be spent in the `Easter Egg Chamber` on the Sunday.

On the Saturday, we were transported to Edinburgh City Centre where we had to complete a large treasure hunt following clues, answering questions and taking photographs of certain places. We walked from the Botanical Gardens to Grassmarket to St Andrews Square and The Royal Mile.

On the Saturday evening, we had a "night out". After getting dressed up, we went for 3-course dinner, karaoke, dancing and a night at the races before returning to the campsite to have a campfire and a few songs but it wasn`t long before everyone was off to bed.

In the morning, the points from the various activities were converted to times that would be spent in the `Easter Egg Chamber`.

The chamber was a children`s soft play area full of red, green and blue tokens. The Explorer Scouts were blindfolded and sent in for their earned amount of time to collect as many tokens as possible.

Red tokens = 1 point
Green tokens = -1 point
Blue tokens = 10 points

The points were counted and the winning team was determined; however the Explorer Scouts were left in anticipation for a while longer!

They were sent on an Easter Egg hunt. 200 mini Cream Eggs were hidden in the woods and they got to keep what they found... some people will have very sore stomachs!!!

After this and striking camp, the results were announced and prizes given out to everybody; winners and non-winners.

A great weekend!
