    Curling/Ice Skating - 48th Explorer Scouts

Just when you thought it was safe to go back onto the ice.
    On Wednesday 12th March
A party of 45 Explorers went to Kirkcaldy Ice Rink to have a taster session of Curling.
It was a bit strange when we were told to step on to the ice with just our trainers on, but it was very easy to walk on the ice.
The party was then split into teams of 6 or 8.
They started by learning the basics of Curling.
How to deliver a stone while still standing
How to sweep a stone while it was going down the rink.
After the basics it was down to have a mini camp of curling.
It was over 5 ends and by the end of the session a think a few were hooked and would like to have an other go.
After the curling and to finish of the evening we all put on our skates and had 45 mins ice skating.
Over all the night was a lot of fun and one that we would repeat in the near future.
